Posted: 09.SEP.08Rav Yitzchak Berkovits, Rosh Kollel of The Jerusalem Kollel and Rav of Sanhedria Murchevet in Yerushalayim, has announced that beginning this week, all members of his Kollel will be required to have a Shemirah system in place if they choose to bring the Internet into their homes.
Many Kollel members have wives that work or attend college online, which requires them to have Internet access in their homes. In addition, Yungeleit use the Internet to download Rav Berkovits's shiurim from the Kollel website. This reality compelled Rav Berkovits to look for a way to ensure that the Internet is only used for constructive purposes.
