Upper Allen Twp. police are investigating criminal mischief that occurred in the area of Temple Beth Shalom on Allendale Road. Police said that a fire was set to a temporary religious structure known as a sukkot in the yard of the temple. They said a witness reported seeing three or four young males running from the area at 3:15 a.m. Police said the fire doesn't seem specifically directed at the temple because there was a lot of criminal mischief in the area overnight, including a stop sign removed from an intersection in Mechanicsburg; lawn chairs across the road near the temple; and a flower pot and four fence posts strewn in the 900 block of Allison Avenue.
Police have made no arrests in the incidents.
