Crown Heights, NY - Woman Mugged in Broad Daylight on Montgomery

Earlier last week a woman was mugged in broad daylight on a Crown Heights street. The incident took place at around 12:45pm Tuesday on Montgomery St, between Kingston Ave and Albany Ave, where a black man described to be around 30 years old hit a lady knocking her to the ground and stealing her purse.

Hatzalah, and Police responded to the scene and after obtaining a description of the man Police Officers and security members searched the area for the perpetrator, to no avail.A fter treating the woman at the scene, Hatzalah released the woman with no need to transport her to the hospital B”H. Inspector Peter Simoneti, the Commanding Officer of the 71st Precinct said “this definitely appears to be a crime of opportunity, the perp saw that there were no cops on the corner and just struck”, other residents at the scene just scratched their head, “midday, in the middle of Tishrei, how can this happen?” they asked.
