Crown heights, Brooklyn - Shmira/Shomrim Apprehend one for Harassment and Trespassing

A Jewish woman who was visiting a friend was accosted and harassed by a drunk black male. The incident took place at around 8:45pm Thursday night on Empire Boulevard where a woman was sitting at the front door of a friend’s house when the perpetrator walked up the steps and sat down beside her and began harassing her.

The woman immediately fled into the house of her friend and called Shmira/Shomrim. Numerous units responded to the scene and fount the perp, who was around 30 years old, still sitting on the steps of the house and intoxicated, when Shmira/Shomrim members tried talking to him he responded incoherently and began singing and talking to himself.

Police arrived on scene and also attempted to talk to the man but received the same responses, when police asked him for identification he began emptying his pockets which included lots of scrap paper, a pack of cigarettes and two miniature bottles of Bacardi vodka, but no ID.

The man was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication, Harassment and Trespassing.

Special thank you goes to Sargent Walls of the 71st precinct who handled the incident expertly and professionally.
