Israeli Inspectors Seize Illegal Esrogim at Ben Gurion

Israeli inspectors at Ben Gurion Airport recently seized three suitcases in which they found 135 esrogim, apparently imported from Italy. The passengers to whom the bags belonged, an Israeli citizen and a tourist, were taken in for questioning and fined 5,000 shekel. They claimed innocence, saying that the arrival of the bags in Israel had been a mix-up; they were supposed to have been routed elsewhere. A quick check, however, found that this attempt had not been their first agricultural smuggling offense.
