UPDATE: Lakewood Girls High Schools Remain Closed

The opening of all girls high schools in Lakewood, NJ, has been postponed yet again due to the fact that a number of high school girls have still not been placed in schools at the onset of this school year. It had been hoped that the schools would finally open today, but schools again remain closed as work continues to place all girls in local schools.

Initial reports that only a handful of girls did not have schools were erroneous, as a larger number of girls required placement, which led to the cancellation of orientation on Thursday. Work continues to resolve the situation.
