Petirah of Rav Yechiel Fishel Eisenbach zt”l

It is with great sadness that we report the passing last night of Rav Yechiel Fishel Eisenbach zt”l, one of the greatest mekubalim in Eretz Yisroel and rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Shaar Hashomayim, the renowned yeshiva for mekubalim in Yerushalayim. Until his petirah yesterday, Rav Eisenbach led the yeshiva, located on Rechov Rashi, together with Rav Yaakov Meir Shechter shlita and Rav Gamliel Rabinowitz shlita. The yeshiva is the main address for Ashkenazim who wish to study kabbolah. Rav Eisenbach’s tzidkus and yedios haTorah were renowned despite his tremendous humility and his desire to remain out of the limelight. He taught and inspired multitudes of talmidim and leaves behind an illustrious legacy of limud haTorah and dveikus baHashem.

Rav Eisenbach was a son-in-law of the renowned tzaddik and mekubal, Rav Asher Zelig Margulies zt”l.

His son-in-law is Rav Moshe Uri Eisenstein zt”l, rov of Givat Shaul and av beis din in Yerushalayim.

Rav Eisenbach, who was 83, had entered Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center last month after falling ill.

The levaya was held at 10:00 p.m. last night at Yeshivas Shaar Hashomayim and kevurah took place on Har Hazeisim.

Rav Eisenbach’s daughter, Mrs. Leah Miller, is sitting shivah in Boro Park at 3805 15th Avenue, Apt. 30, until Wednesday morning.

Yehi zichro boruch.
