New Chabad Grocery In Kiev Will Sell Kosher Food At Cost

new Kosher supermarket opened in Ukraine’s capital last week under the auspices of the city's Chabad-Lubavitch community.

The store is located on the property of the “Perlyna” Ohr Avner Day School headed by R' Jonathan Markowitz, the Chabad Shaliach who leads the local Jewish community.

The store will offer groceries for Kosher consumers at cost.

R' Markowitz said that the store is not a for-profit venture that is trying to keep Kosher food prices under control for consumers with low incomes. Kosher food in Kiev often costs 2-3 times more than it might cost elsewhere.
