Israel: Traffic Fatalities for the Month of August 2008

Fifty (50) motorists and pedestrians were R”L killed on the nation’s roadways in the month of August. Hundreds were injured, some seriously and some sustaining permanent disabilities.
Over 10% of the road deaths in Israel are children, the highest percentage in the world, Israel’s National Road Safety Authority reports. The report addresses “children” being anyone up to age 14, stating that segment of society represents 11% of the total road fatalities annually.
307 motorists and pedestrians were killed on the nation’s roadways since January 1, 2008.
