Hate Crime Charges Against Nazi Film Screeners Dropped

Budapest, Hungary - A hate-crime investigation into the screening of the Nazi-era anti-Semitic propaganda film "Jud Suess" in Hungary has reportedly been halted.

The case will be prosecuted as a copyright violation rather than a hate crime, local media reported. Right-wing extremists showed the film in July in a Budapest basement and charged admission without permission from the copyright holder, the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation of Wiesbaden, Germany.
