Chabad Shliach In Switzerland Posts Bail For Israeli Arrestees

Lugano, Switzerland -- Two Israeli youths who had been detained in Switzerland when drugs were found in their possession were released and permitted to return to Israel, thanks to the efforts of a Chabad lawyer and a local Chabad Shliach.

The two were arrested approximately two weeks ago. The family of the arrestees sought the help of Mordechai Tzivin, an attorney who specializes in dealing with foreign arrests. Tzivin traveled to Switzerland and was able to arrange release on bail. However, Swiss authorities were demanding an extremely large sum of money, which the family was unable to advance.

Tzivin sought the help of R' Yaakov Kantor, a Chabad Shliach in Lugano, Switzerland, who through extensive efforts was able to raise the necessary amount to post bail for the Israeli arrestees.
