Ashkelon Rebbetzins Killer Claims Death Was Accidental

Details have emerged surrounding the July murder of Ashkelon Rebbetzin Tziona Samin, after a gag order on the case was lifted on Sunday and one of the suspects reenacted for the police the robbery in which the 65-year-old woman died. On July 2, Rebbetzin Samin's body was found bound on the floor by her husband, R’ Yosef Samin. Investigators from the Lachish District Police focused on suspects Feredian, 41, of Ashkelon, and Igor Kigelman, 27, of Bat Yam. Feredian said he told Rebbetzin Samin he was only after money, but after climbing the stairs to the second floor to search for valuables, he heard noise from the floor below. When he went back downstairs, he saw that the victim was no longer breathing, he said. The suspect told the police he only intended to rob the residence, not hurt the woman.
