Moroccan Shofaros May Be Problematic

Israel -- A call has gone out from a few Israeli Rabbis, urging those purchasing Shofaros this year to check the Shofar's country of origin before buying. It seems that there is an issue with Moroccan Shofaros, which may have been cracked and subsequently carefully glue together, rendering them useless according to Halacha. The glue is difficult to see, and the easiest way to avoid any problems is to look for a Hechsher that certifies the country of origin and production process.
